Background: Ella Jackson was always a spunky, fiery child. She was always fierce, once when she was young, the neighborhood bully had made fun of her, and by the time she was finished with him he had been running home crying with a bloody nose and a chunk of his hair missing. She’d always gotten in trouble when she was little for her no-shit taken personality, but her parents had always been proud that their little girl knew how to take care of herself. Her twin sister Violet had been exactly the opposite, a shy, fragile girl that had no sense of assertiveness and was always walked all over. Because of this, and because El loved her sister more than anyone else, she’d spent a great deal of her childhood keeping bullies and other awful people from doing anything to Violet. They’d been the best of friends, Violet like air, and Ella like fire. They’d done everything together, from exploring the woods in their backyard together to making their mother hot chocolate when she was sick (which happened often, sadly.) They spent their entire childhood years with one another by their sides, growing up into beautiful young woman together.

But once they reached high school, the time came that Ella couldn’t keep all of the bad in the world away from Violet. Sure, a little bit of El’s fierceness had rubbed off on her over the years, but it wasn’t enough to protect her from everything. She’d fallen in love, with a girl, and the feelings had been returned after a while, so they two had begun to date. Ella was thrilled for her sister, but was also scared for her because many people picked on her for being a lesbian. The night of their Junior Prom, Violet and her now longtime girlfriend had been dragged out behind the school and beaten. By the time that someone had found them, it was too late for a. Her girlfriend had ended up surviving but that was the day that Ella had lost her best friend, her sister, and the one person that she’d ever been able to count on.

Currently: As soon as her senior year ended, Violet took off for London, where she currently resides. She isn’t in school, and hasn’t even made up her mind as to whether or not she wants to even attend. She’s still fierce as hell, but is still Violet. Haunted by some nightmares of her sister. She’s been working as a bar, trying to work her way through her grief while trying to find someone to connect with as well. She’s turned to alcohol, cutting, and drugs even, to try and fill the gaping hole that Vi left behind in her life. She doesn’t know how anything will ever get better, but she can’t help but grasp onto a sliver of hope that it somehow will.

Other things to know: El is a cutter, as mentioned before. She wishes that she could have been there to stop the people from killing her sister, and the survivor’s guilt that she has from that is immense. Her life is kind of crappy at the moment, she doesn’t have very many friends, or at all, really. A bartender is the perfect job though, because she doesn’t take shit from anyone and will deal with anyone who tries properly.

Background: Elizabeth Paige was the type of girl that knew how to get what she wanted. As a child, she figured out that crying would get her anything she desired. And when she grew older and that didn’t work anymore, she found out all the other ways that could get her what she needed, whether it be blackmail, friendship, sex, ‘love’, or whatever. Every girl wanted to be her, and every guy wanted her. It was exactly how she wanted it, or so she thought. She was popular, smart, and gorgeous, and was extremely manipulative but covered it up so well that no one even knew that she was doing it. A cunning young lady, she was, a snake. But in everyone else’s eyes she was the perfect little angel. Not even her parents noticed her ways, and it was exactly how she planned it. She went through high school as a queen, with a boy on her arm and a smirk on her face. And when she graduated, it was as top of her class with a full scholarship to King’s College in England. It was the life she had always planned for herself, and nothing had ever gotten in her way.

Currently: Elizabeth, occasionally “Effy”, is living in London and attending the University of her dreams. She lives in a luxurious apartment, and parties every single night until dawn. She’s had plenty of flings with attractive men, and everything should feel perfect. But it doesn’t, and she doesn’t understand why. There’s something missing, something that alcohol and sex can’t fill. She wants someone to love her, but she has no clue how to make that happen. The only thing she knows how to do is manipulate, not to let someone in. She’s used to being a mystery, someone who never let someone in so as not to be abandoned.

Other Things to Know: Elizabeth is not aware of her sexuality in the slightest. (I think that this can give the roleplayer that takes her a chance to have ‘the best of both worlds’ as she figures it out.) She does know that something feels entirely wrong about sleeping with all of these guys, but she’s not aware that it’s because she isn’t even attracted to them. She has a few friends here, but no one really knows who she is because of her paranoia that they’ll hurt her.

Background: Michael Williams was always a daring child. He was the type of kid that was always doing something, whether it be eating fried ants for a dare or climbing to the top of the tallest tree on the block. He was rather popular for his exploits as a small child, making friends with almost every kid around because of how ‘cool’ they thought he was. His parents loved him to pieces, even if they didn’t quite understand his adrenaline-seeking nature, and he had a good and normal life growing up. And as he got older, that life changed a bit, but it was still good and relatively average. He was happy, and that was good. He was less adventurous, but he was still popular and was never seen without a girl to call his own. He developed a habit of always telling the absolute truth to someone, and many of his fellow classmates actually took advantage of that fact by asking him questions that they wanted honest opinions about. And opinionated he was, many times he’d even correct the teachers about certain subjects because of his own opinions. They didn’t mind that much, though, because he was a smart kid that ended up graduating third in his class and heading off to King’s College with a hefty scholarship.

Currently:

Michael is enjoying his life here in London, making some friends, scoping out the female population. He works at a small cafe in the middle of the city, using the money that he makes there to pay for his cozy apartment as well as his other needs. He loves to party, and goes out to clubs a lot to try and meet girls. That part succeeds, but usually it ends up being just a one night stand, and not someone that will stick. That’s what he wants, a permanent fixture in his life. He needs a girl that will stick around.

Other Things to Know: Michael sometimes prefers to go by ‘Mike’, but it’s not very often. He keeps in touch with his family on occasion, after all, he is an only child. (No relation to Dylan Williams, as well). He loves to party and get drunk, but avoids drugs. He is still a rather brutally honest person, and loves to take any challenge that is thrown his way.

Background: Derrick grew up in a privileged American home. His house was large, with the stereotypical white picket fence surrounding it. His father was the bread winner, and his mother stayed at home to tend after Derrick and his younger sister. Essentially, he comes from a picture perfect family. Derrick, as well, is the picture perfect son. He achieved amazing grades throughout his school years, coming out the top of his class. He’s always trying to do that right thing, and be a stand up citizen. Which is exactly what and who he is. He’s incredibly sweet, and caring, and looks after people. That doesn’t stop him from having some fun every once in a while. He definitely knows how to do that. His father always wanted him to go to Yale, a prestigious Ivy League post-secondary school, but Derrick wanted to travel, wanted to see the world. That’s the only thing he and his father have ever disagreed on in his entire life, and it ended in Derrick packing up and moving to London as part of his travels.

Present: Derrick, now living in the wonderful city of London, is pursuing his own dreams, based on what he wants to do, not what his father had planned for him. He currently has a job at a Bar in London. He’s perfectly happy working a nightshift job to cover his living expenses, because he feels he is in the right place. Besides, he likes talking to people, and he likes helping people with their problems. And what better way to do that than by working in a bar, pouring drinks for people with problems, and listening to what they have to say. As for what he actually wishes to do with his life, he’s not entirely sure. However, he does eventually want to go to school, and continue his education. That will be then. He’s in a ‘in the moment’ mindset right now.

Other Things To Know: Derrick is quick at making new friends. Something about his charming personality and his ability to talk to people. His persona is also very approachable, and people usually flock to him. He doesn’t mind this at all, he likes talking to other people.

Background: Connor Owens was always a quiet kid. For the first twelve years of his life, everything was completely normal. His parents were nice, he had friends, he did average at sports, everything was going the way it should have. But when he was thirteen, that all changed one day when his parents caught him kissing a definitely male classmate of his at a Halloween party. Luckily, the other kid in costume was able to get away unscathed, but Connor’s parents dragged him out by the collar and brought him home. They screamed at him, telling him that he was a freak of nature and a disgrace to the Lord, and that was the first night that they hit him. Connor thought that he was in the wrong, and so he tried his best to convince his parents that he liked girls and everything. It worked, for a little while. He was able to bring home a couple of nice girls, and was even able to hold their hands and occasionally even kiss them. Eventually the extreme bruises from the first night faded, and Connor was able to settle into the ‘straight’ persona that he had been able to create for himself. This was easy for him since he was only in middle school when he started, at the age where most kids are still figuring everything out. But when he turned fifteen and started high school, Connor read and went to health class and expanded his knowledge on the subject of homosexuality. He realized that all those years ago it had been his parents fault, and how there was nothing wrong with him for liking people of the same gender. When he tried to confront his parents about it, they began to beat and verbally abuse him on a regular basis. Some of his friends noticed the marks on his skin, but he was easily able to avoid their questions by blaming it on sports or clumsiness. None of them knew his two big secrets, and none of them cared enough to try to figure them out. He made the whole thing sort of like a game in his head, tried to think of the best ways to guard the two things that absolutely no one could find out about. It messed him up a bit in the head, and he became distant from people, wrapped up in his own little world where all that he did was play the game with himself. He had a never ending stream of excuses for whenever someone asked him what was wrong, and never noticed himself spiraling into a depression.

One night at a party, during his junior year, Connor got slipped an extremely high amount of alcohol and got very drunk. He eventually ended up making out with a (surprisingly sober) guy, and the two headed back to Connor’s house, completely forgetting about his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Owens weren’t home, so the two boys were able to make it up to Connor’s bedroom where they proceeded to have sex. When his parents caught the two in bed, they hit and hurt Connor worse than all of the other times put together. His lover managed to sneak off and call an ambulance though his shock, and it arrived before the point where his parents could kill him. The young man was taken away from the parents immediately to a hospital, where he spent six months with many broken bones and internal bleeding before being sent off to London to finish his senior year.

Currently: Connor is getting his life back on track and trying to enjoy life here in London despite his troubling past. No one at his new school knows what happened to him, and he intends to keep it that way. He is still in the closet, and most likely will be for quite some time. Not very people talk to him, because they think he’s a freak that’s messed up (although, he kind of is), and has a weird stutter. He’s slipping a little bit further into depression each day, but it’s still going unnoticed by the therapist that has been assigned to him. He is trying, though, to get good grades and make friends, and maybe even play some sports. It’s just a matter of time before something bigger or better will happen.

Other things to know: Connor is not allowed to speak to his parents by law. He has no clue what on earth happened to him, and if they’re in jail or still out there somewhere. He often has nightmares, many of which end up with the two adults finding him here in London and brutally murdering him. His fear is starting to rule his life a little, and he has nowhere and no one to turn to.

Background: Brielle’s always been the type of girl who fought for what she cared about. Throughout her life she’s been described as bossy, headstrong, defiant, you name it. But really the dark haired girl only want to stand up for what she believes in. She strongly believes in gay and women’s rights, and was always the kind of girl that was organizing rallies or pride days to inform her peers. The environment was also quite important to her, and practically every day of the week you could find Ms. Everett helping out in some way, shape, or form. Her parents never understood her at all, they were more the type of people that cared about what was on cable that night as opposed to what was actually happening around the world. And Brielle’s never found time to actually make friends, so she would just ‘mingle’ with the classmates of hers that were in a few mutual clubs with her. Most people actually think she’s a bit crazy, but it’s only because she just can’t figure out how to show that she truly cares about the well-being of other people. Because of her strong personality and extremely high intellect, Brielle has never found someone that she connected with, and his never gotten to experience the thrill that is love. Secretly, it’s something she’s always wanted to do, but helping out and extracurricular activities always got in the way. And so when she received a full scholarship to King’s College, Brielle packed her bags and quickly headed off to London in search of a new start.

Currently: Brielle is attending King’s College in London. She’s certainly toned down her enthusiasm since high school, but still loves to help out in her community. She’s getting along fairly well with the people around her, and has had an easier time making friends since arriving. All in all, she’s satisfied with her life at the moment. Her classes are going well, there’s a ton of stuff to do around the city, and she’s happy. It’s a lot different than her life growing up, and she’s glad. Now if only she could find someone that could connect with her, everything would be perfect.

Other things to know: Brielle is in fact a pansexual. She doesn’t give a shit about someone’s gender, the only thing that she wants is someone that can love her through and through, even with all of her flaws. She also plays the flute, and practices often; much to the delight of her neighbors.
